Grinding is a cutting production process for precise and final machining of workpieces. It can be used manually or on grinding machines. As with all cutting methods, excess material is removed in the form of chips. The edges of the microscopically small, hard, mineral crystals in the grinding tool function as blades in this case.

Diamond-metal foils
The metal foils are available in film thicknesses of 0.25 – 0.4 mm. They are diamond-coated in a galvanic bond and can be flexibly cut to size with normal scissors as required. They are used to achieve very high stock removal. They are particularly suitable for carbide, ceramic, glass, hardened steel, fibreglass, jewellery and stone.
